Earlier this year, when misinformation and fear-mongering about D.C. were flooding the national spotlight, The 51st asked our readers to share three words that truly describe D.C. The responses were incredible! "Hot Humid Love," "Colorful Characters Communing," "Little Big City," "Proud Pissed Passionate," just to name a few that readers like you submitted.
51st contributor and local illustrator, Mikka Kei Ito Macdonald, turned them into graphics that became one of our most popular Instagram posts of all time!
We decided to memorialize this outpouring of city pride in an exclusive members-only T-shirt, also designed by Mikka Kei and printed by a worker-owned coop on union-made shirts. 🤝 Order before December 5th – this is a limited run, so don't wait.
