This week, we’re showing love to the kids with a youth dance performance, a rock concert, and a bike ride for little ones. Plus, some cherry blossom festivities to start the season. 

THURSDAY, MARCH 20 

Pedal Boat Race
Kick off Cherry Blossom season with a race across the Tidal Basin. The event includes timed heats and casual competitions with prizes for the fastest boats in multiple age groups and the best-dressed participants. (Tidal Basin Pedal Boats; 4 – 7 p.m.; $100 for 2 people and an additional $20 for an extra rider)

Environmental Film Festival Returns to DC March 20-29
This year’s DCEFF lineup promises something for everyone, including films about wildlife, environmental justice, Indigenous land defenders, and the boundless mysteries of nature. FRIDAY, MARCH 21 

"No One is Self-Made" Book Talk
Join Dr. Lakeysha Hallmon as she breaks down the myth of individualism and shares how collective support can tear down systemic barriers to success. She’ll be in conversation with D.C. native and entrepreneur Angel Gregorio. (Black + Forth; 7 p.m.; FREE or $32 with autographed book) 

Chamber of Comedy
Support local talent at this comedy show headlined by Dom Rivera and featuring Tre Solo, Auriel Haack, Hector Castro, and more. (The DC Arts Center; Doors open at 9:30 p.m., show starts at 10 p.m.; $12+)

Cherry Blossom Pop-up Bar 
Silver Lyan is bringing some hanami magic to Dishonesty Bar for cherry blossom season. SATURDAY, MARCH 22 

Spirit Home Opener
Sick of rooting for the Wizards? To catch an actually winning team in action, head to Audi Field for the Washington Spirit's home opener against the Kansas City Current. (Audi Field; 6:00 p.m. gates, 7:30 kick-off; tickets starting at $30)

Youth Dance Performance 
Support an emerging choreographer and young dancers at SoundXpressed Dance Company’s showcase, An Exhale of Hope. The performance will help participants grow artistically while connecting with the local community. (The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage; 6 p.m.; FREE) 

Walking Tour

A Ride for Littles

SUNDAY, MARCH 23 

Afrosoul Yoga 
Challenge what you think your body can do with a one-hour vinyasa flow designed to build strength, flexibility, and balance while vibing to Afrobeats. (Eaton Workshop; 4 – 5 p.m.; $25+)

Girls Rock! Showcase
